Outgoing URA CG Doris Akol (R) handing over instruments of service to New Boss J.M Rujoki (L)

The newly appointed Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Commissioner General Mr John Musinguzi Rujoki, today received instruments of service from her predecessor Dr. Doris Akol.

Akol who has been at the top position of the tax authority in the country since 2014 was last week slapped with a sacking card.

According to a tweet from the President, he tweeted showing how he had appointed Mr John Musinguzi as a new commissioner General of the URA.

“By the virtue of the powers granted to me by the constitution, I have appointed Mr John Musinguzi Rujoki as a new Commissioner General URA,” tweeted Museveni.

The President said Rujoki’s appointment was starting with immediate effect.

Immediately when the Twitter post circulated on social media, state sources indicated that flamboyant Dr Doris Akol could have been fired on incompetence grounds.

However, other sensitive sources said the President must be preparing Counsel Akol for a fatty job either in the government or KCCA.

The outgoing CG, Doris Akol handed over office in presence of the URA Board Chairman and Secretary.

Rujoki becomes a 6th CG, Uganda Revenue Authority.
