The high court judge Jane Frances Abodo has released on bail Brian Isiko,25, a YMCA Jjinja based campus who was covicted of stalking the Kabarole district legislator Sylivia Rwabwogo with seducive and romantic text messages.
Appearing before the jury today, Isiko was asked to pay a cash bond worth 500,000 and shs 5m by each of the suerities; Grace Regan Muganza, a retired UPDF officer and Wako Godfrey, the Assistant Academic Registrar of Kyambogo University, before he was warned by the jury not to over text hon rwabwogo again.
The judge ordered Isiko to always report to the court deputy registrar High Court Criminal Division every third friday of the month with effect from august 17,2018.
Brian, through his lawyer Ramathan Waiswa had applied before before High Court giving nine grounds. Among them is the fact that he is a student whose continued education will be affected by the 2-year imprisonment term because there is a likely hood that the appeal may not be disposed off as soon as possible.
However the DPP, through state Attorney Gladys Macrina Nyanzi has opposed Isiko’s bail application on grounds that he has proved no exceptional circumstances of either old age or illness that would warrant his release on bail.
The culprit was sentenced to a 2yrs imprisonment at Nagonje prison on 5th July,2018, after confessing guilty of the charges against cyber harassment offensive communication where hed had spent over 26 days. The judgement was presided over by the Buganda Road Court grade one Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu.

Presiding High Court Judge, Jane Frances Abodo said that given the fact that Isiko has filed an appeal against the sentence, he retains the presumption of innocence. He added that the reasons presented by his lawyers; Katuntu and Co. Advocates, were substantial to warrant bail
