With the current political climate in most universities and tertiary insititutions in Uganda,our reporter Isaac Tayebwa has had a one on one interview with Hon.Amos Nomwesigwa ,a contestant in the guild presidency race at Uganda Christian University Bishop Barham University College doing Barcherior of Social Work And Social Administration  his second year.

AMOS;  I’m a male  Ugandan who comes from Rubanda district,grew up on the streets before being adopted by my current family. With the help of Compassion International,a humantarian organization I was able to attend Nyaruhanga primary school, Murole preparatory school then Kabale brain storm high school before joining this mighty University.

QUESTION;  Have you ever been a leader or it’s your first trial?

AMOS;  All I can tell you, I have been a leader almost the whole of my life,.My leadership rose to the peak when I became a head prefect at brainstorm high school, I am a former president of the Leo’s club.I have led in different campasities in church,community and I’m currently the founding direct universal Child support Federation,a community based organization that cares for children .

QUESTION; What difference are you offering to the university??

AMOS;  We  don’t want to change the university systems but to allow them function better than they have been

QUESTION; How prepared are you to connect with other universities as a guild president?

AMOS;  It’s just a matter of setting a great and flexible system on the ground.Im very ready to work hand in hand with any official in other universities . Positive public relations is also important.

QUESTION;  Do you have any plans for your future in  leadership?

AMOS; I have strategies to help me rise to the highest office in my district.

QUESTION ; Any advice to your fellow students.

AMOS; I would tell my fellow students that
True leaders understand that leadership is not about them but about those they serve. It is not about exalting themselves but about lifting others up. The only task of the leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been.
Love remains the most dominant aspect in life so love your neighbor.

QUESTION;  If given a chance,what would you would you tell the president of Uganda?

AMOS; By virtual of the prevailing situation in Uganda,the education system is in  trouble. I would advise him to reopen schools and the economy at large since we have sensitivity informed all Ugandans about covid 19.

QUESTION; As we conclude, what do you tell your voters?

AMOS; To my voters, it’s not over until we rise it up.. let’s work together, trust me, with your mandate, I shall act as the change you want to see… Forward to excellence at the center of excellence,…
I finally request for support and urge them to secure their mandate till Saturday..
