The descriptive and correlation studies have affirmed that the appointment of Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, the new Mufti of Uganda has a positive strong and significant role in protecting the islamic religion as well as keeping Islamic interests in Uganda.

Although the ultimate power in Islam is possessed by Allah Almighty, Sheikh Galabuzi background shows how powerful and useful he is in bringing prosperity for the Ummah (society) and protecting people from harmness.

This concept introduces to you a brief biography and contribution of Sheikh Muhammed Galabuzi and his contribution towards building a strong islamic faith in Uganda.

Galabuzi’s birth is another miracle to his family and parents after he was born on a day after Uganda’s independence, October 10, 1962, in Bunyiri Village Bukoba Mokono District, Buganda Kingdom’s Kyagwe county. His birth is historical to the people of Bunyiri.

He was born to two happily married couples Sheikh Shaban Kikomeko and Hajjat Nagawa Kikomeko, both of whom lived in Bunyiri Bukoba Kyagwe county.
Galabuzi attended school at Biral Islamic Institute where he attained the post of Idaad and Thanawi.

Before being appointed to Mufti of Uganda, he has been serving as Imaam at Kansanga Mosque in Kansanga Kampala.

His significant contribution in promoting and protecting islamic interests can be felt through a Quran school which he founded in Kansanga that has helped in equipping moslems with Islamic and Quran teachings.

Galabuzi, is a religious leader, husband and father married to three Hakki and blessed with children.

He was announced the new Supreme Mufti of Uganda on Monday November 22, 2021. He replaces Sheikh Kasule Ndirangwa who stepped down in April this year following the death of Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata.

In the Islamic faith, a leader is presumably a man to be followed and obeyed and he must refer to Al-Qur’an and Hadith as guidance before making and decisions. A leader in this faith must be abundantly with knowledge and bodily prowess to lead successfully.

“O you who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the messanger and those charged with authority among you. If you differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and the messanger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best, and most suitable final determination,” An-Nisaa 4:59.

It is thus worth noting that Allah has sent Sheikh Galabuzi as a King over the Kibuli muslim faction who has gifted him with abundant knowledge and prowess to serve as scriptures in al-Baqarah 2: 247.

“Allah hath chosen him above you, and hath gifted him abundantly with knowledge and bodily prowess: Allah Granteth His authority to whom he pleaseth. Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things.”

Compared to other past leaders in this capacity, he is more expected to deliver trusts to the rightful, judge with fairness and serve with excellence in pursuit to build strong Islamic Faith and protect their interests.

“Indeed Allah commands you to deliver the trusts to their owners, and when you judge between people, judge with fairness. Excellent indeed is what Allah advises you. Indeed Allah is all-hearing and all-seeing,” An-Nisa 4:58
