Authorities in Lira have cancelled the ongoing Copa Coka Cola post primary football tournament following a fight between Lango College and Lira Town College students.
The rift is said to have stemmed from a match on Saturday when fans pelted stones at Lira Town College students, but students thought the stones came from Lango College fans.

On the fateful evening of Saturday, students of Lira Town College launched an attack on Lango college, stormed the school and vandalised vehicles and the school bus which were parked in the school yard.
Lango College students could not give it a damn! They unruly recognised the attack and responded in self-defense.

Soon, the situation was out of hands prompting Lango College administration to call police to intervene.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga region police spokesperson has said that police and other security agencies intervened to calm the situation down.
Okema further disclosed that they arrested 58 students (identity not disclosed) and are being screened.
He condemned the unfortunate incident and asked school administrators to be more responsible with learners.
