We publish to you interviews from different stakeholders within Mitooma District assessing her leadership.
MP Bashiisha has been named a Servant Leader by several socio-economic and political observers owing to her level of excellence in ensuring work progress and economic transformation in the District.
Many people whom Parrots UG interviewed agree that Agasha’s initiatives are heading in the right direction, these experts say the horizon is filled with obstacles largely caused by the COVID-19. But, they are optimistic she still has time to achieve more.
John Barigye, an Eductionist and Headteacher at Bubangizi SSS in Mitooma District says that Bashiisha has lived to her campaign manifesto.
“Hon Juliet has lived up to her election campaign promises. She has donated items to health facilities, food items to the electorate, organises fund raising functions, organised International Women’s day celebrations for Mitooma district & supports schools, e.g. she facilitated Bubangizi sss & Ruhinda sss Football teams with Sh500000= each in the recently concluded National competitions in Arua & Gulu”, said Barigye.
On account of achievements, Costance Kamayonza (NUP) who contested with Bashiisha in the 2021 election for same position believes that she is a promising leader and hopes she will make a good breast of her leadership in the next 4yrs.
“On ascale of 100,she has performed 40% and she’s still promising I may evaluate her after 2years”, Kamayonza said.
On women and girl-child empowerment, Reagan Byaruhanga Collins, the Executive Secretary at UMOJA Uganda says that Hon. Bashiisha is committed to supporting vulnerable women and girl-child families both at parliament and at a personal level.

“It is not by the virtue of her position as MP, its within her efforts that UMOJA started and she lobbied its pilots to Mitooma District. She has helped to identify vulnerable families which the organisation offered to give annual support. She is incomparable”, said Reagan Byaruhanga – UMOJA Uganda.
Byaruhanga who also doubles as the Mitooma District Youth Chairperson credited the honourable for always lending a listening ear to the youth voice and her efforts to address challenges affecting the youths in the district.
“The youth have alot of ambitions but find difficulties in approaching leaders especially MPs. As the district, we are blessed that we elected the most accessible leader who considers people before self,” he said
He added that he is not afraid Hon. Agasha is the first legislator from the district emphasizing on girl-child empowerment and improved youth livelihoods.
On several occasions, the honourable has been seen on the ground monitoring and supervising government projects part of her legislative role and she is on record for raising issues of national importance on the floor of parliament.
For the next four years, Bashiisha has been urged to investigate on the cause of the backsliding academic performances of schools especially in Single Girls schools within the district to ensure quality education for a girl-child.
“At a grassroot level, she needs to reach out to people especially women, girls and the elderly to interact with them and find out their challenges and work to address them. Let the ground prove her presence and hard work,” Costance Kamayonza, former candidate for Mitooma District Woman MP seat, 2021.
