Court has today found the same Kirabo it awarded bail to finish his studies(Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of surgery) guilty of murder and also away and safe from arrest(for now).
Mathew Kirabo allegedly killed his then girlfriend (Desire Mirembe Jemima) in cold blood. Kirabo got bail and has since skipped this bail and run out of the country. His rich family was fined Sh150 million which they paid in cash. Case closed.
On 24 November, 2016, he was granted bail to complete his studies. He completed his studies and got employed at Mulago Hospital while awaiting for the next hearing before him fleeing out of the country.
Due to alot of pressure from human rights groups that wanted him behind bars, Kirabo disappeared since last year and fled the country and up to now his destination is still unknown by our security operatives.
It will always be remembered that Matthew Kirabo allegedly murdered Desire Mirembe in 2015 as the two were having a toxic love affair.
Matthew confessed before the Jinja Magistrates Court to the alledged acts causing the death of Mirembe Desire, and was charged with murder and effectively remanded.
On Monday 30 May, Justice Henry Kaweesa of Mukono High Court convicted Matthew Kirabo of the same charges which have remained hanging in the air.
However, it comes when the convicted Kirabo already fled the country and therefore leaving alot of unanswered questions to Ugandans on the fairness and equity of the judicial system in the country.
