Traditional leaders in Lango region have linked to the the recent murder of Ribert Charles Ogwang, the Bukwo District Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to possible grudges at work calling on police to investigate the deceased workmates.
Ogwang was on Saturday shot dead in areas of Bombo in Wakiso by unknown assailants before his official car registration number UG 0865Z caught fire. He was rushed to Bombo military hospital where he was announced dead moments later.
Hajji Musa Odongo Ayo, the head of Liira ckan inwhich the deceased belonged has said that the scene at which the deceased was murdered indicate that the assailants did not shoot with an intention of robbery but ending his life.
”We visited the scene where Ogwang was murdered and discovered that he was shot nine bullets, which could mean that the assailants were after his life but not conducting a robbery,” local media quoted Odongo
Odongo suspects that Ogwang could have had issues with his workmates which instigated the murder. He did not however give any details of the likely grudges between the deceased and his workmates.
But, he asked police to expedite investigations into the matter for justice to prevail for ogwang and the family.
The prime minister of Tekwaro Lango, George Ojwang Opota said the death of Ogwang has created a big gap because he was among few people in Lango holding big position.
He hailed Ogwang’s contributions toward development of Lango region and Uganda in particular.
By Press time, police had confirmed to the arrest of four suspects including the deceased driver to help in investigations waiting to release an intensive report.
