Shadow opposition ministers in the parliament of Uganda have come out to demand for the release of Hon. Frank Kabuye Kibirige who was arrested during the incident that happened at Makerere university.
Kabuye together with other two suspects were arrested by police on Thursday last week at Makerere university during a scuffle bwtween NUP and FDC Supporters that led to the death of one student.
Since then, Hon Frank have been kept at CPS in Kampala while his other accomplices Ssekidde Allan and Mazafaru Kaburwa are being detained at Wandegeya police station and Old Kampala police respectively, and now it is beyond the 48 hours before taking them to courts of law somthing that is against the law.
Today the shadow ministers of opposition held a meeting chaired by Hon Joyce Bagaala, the shadow minister of information and Anti-corruption which resolved that the police should release their colleague if they have failed to gather evidence.
“The only thing that we are requesting from the police of Uganda is to follow the law and release Hon frank Kabuye Kyibirige because it seems they have failed to gather enough evidence to take him to courts of law,” Bagaala said.
They also appealed to the police to conduct a fair and transparent investigation to find out who carried out this act and should be brought to book.
However, the police spokespersonFred Enanga has told Parrots UG that the trio was expecte to appear in court today.
