It has been a terrific morning in bulambuli as the citizens woke up to the horror on an accident that claimed 5 lives during the Tuesday (July 19) night drive in Buyaga Town Council, Bulambuli District along the Muyembe – Nakapiripiti Road.
The deceased including Rogers Namawongu, a resident of Sironko, Zida Mutonyi, Rose Watsemwa and two more who are yet to be identified were travelling on a bõa boda when a trailler knocked them dead.
Rodgers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson says that the accident occured after a traille vehicle registration number 753K that was heading to Kapchorwa from Mbale collided with motorcycle UFL 488F on which the now deceased 5 passengers were carried.
This comes barely after one week when six members of the same family died in a road accident on Masaka road.
Taitika urges road users to take caution and be careful while using the road.
