The body of the late Emeritus Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese Paul Kamuza Bakyenga has arrived at the funeral home, Nyamitanga Cathedral.
The Mbarara Archdiocese Bishop Lambert Bainomugisha accompanied by the priest from across Mbarara Archdiocese led the way to receive the remains of the late Archbishop.
A red carpet was rolled out on which the casket was trolleyed to inside the cathedral for a requim mass.

The arrival has set in motion a one day of funeral activities until Sunday 23rd July, 2023 when Bakyenga will be laid to rest in Nyamitanga Cathedral.
Emeritus Archbishop Paul Kamuza Bakyenga died on Tuesday morning (July 18) at Nsambya hospital in Kampala.

He will be buried on the left side of the main entrance, near the altar, adjacent to the grave of the 1st Bishop of Mbarara Francis-Xavier Lacoursiere of the White Fathers(July 25,1934-1956).
Bakyenga was the founder of the Humanitarian help for Uganda, these are emergency response teams in all catholic hospitals with at least an ambulance in every hospital. That’s how the HHFU team received him with sirens.

He was also the founder of holy innocents children’s hospital, University of St Joseph Mbarara and first university chancellor St Joseph’s university
