
Police in Iganga is holding four suspects on allegations of armed robbery and kidnaps.
According to Busoga East Police Spokesperson James Mubi, the four yet to be identified suspects have been operating in areas of Busoga, Bukedi, Kampala and other parts of the country.
Mubi said that the suspects could plant bullets in people’s homes and later on come back with forged identification cards of Updf and other high profile officers to carry out a search in same homes.
Upon carrying out the search, they could according to Spokesperson Mubi, record statements, kidnap and take on the ‘victims’ to unknown destinations whereafter they could start demanding millions of money from the victims or their relatives.
He further stated that after receiving many reports from the locals, police today under the the commandship of Iganga District Police Commander SSP Anatolia Katungwensi, swàng in an operation which left four arrested.
Mubi confirmed the arrest and said that the suspects are currently detained at Iganga Central Police Station as police investigates the matter.
