President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promoted 50 Updf officers. Worth to note is that of the 50 promoted officers, only one is a female officer.
“H.E the President and Commander in Chief of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces has promoted and confirmed Acting ranks of Senior and Junior officers’ of the UPDF,” defense spokesperson reported.
Among the promoted include Lt. Col. Robert Koch, former ADC to Museveni who has been promoted to the rank of Colonel. Five Colonels have been promoted to the Brigadier rank, 17 lieutenant colonels to Colonels, 6 acting Lt. Colonels to Lieutenant colonels and 9 major lieutenants to Lieutenant among others.
One of 50 promoted officers is a female, Lt. Col Lydia Nandutu who has been promoted to the rank of Colonel. Nandutu is a political commissar of Air Forces.
The Updf spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Felix Kulaigye congratulated the promote officers upon what he termed as their “well-deserved” promotions and confirmed ranks.
