Kampala Capital City Traders Association (KACITA) is set to award best business entities, youth and women entrepreneurs come 24 November 2023, at Movit on old Port bell Road, at 5.00 PM. The Awards, according to KACITA, will go to the best Insurance companies, Banks, Landlords of Business premises, Women and Youth entrepreneur groups among others.
Dr. Musoke Nagenda Thadeus, KACITA Chairman, while addressing journalists at their Head office in Kampala on Tuesday said, the money raised from the awards will be earmarked for youth training in entrepreneurship skills, empower women entrepreneurs and vendors who have adhered to Government’s call to form organized business groups.
“Majority business entities to benefit from the awards are those that have walked with us in supporting KACITA during hard economic hardships brought about by COVID-19 and other global negative economic trends”, he said.
He added that KACITA awards committees are in the process of considering awarding media Houses, which have given positive coverage to KACITA programs for a long time.
Mr. Ezra Mugisha, the Chief executive officer, Horeb Services (U) Limited, an external labor recruitment company and KACITA member, said his more than 25 years’ experience in recruitment and youth skills training has helped to reduce youth unemployment in the country.
“I am very passionate about equitable youth opportunities and suitability for employment purposes”, he said.
The KACITA 2023 Awards shall be organized in partnership with Centenary, Bank, Stanbic Bank, National Environment Management Authority (NEMA),Movit, FlexiPay, GLORICH and Horeb Services (U) Limited among others.
