The Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s has lifted the criminal summons against Molly Katanga and her daughter Martha Nkwanzi who are accused of murdering businessman Henry Katanga on 2 November 2023.
Molly Katanga and her daughter will appear in Court on January 8 2024 and answer to charges of destroying evidence .
The two are accused together with another daughter Patricia Kakwanzi and George Amanyire, the Shamba boy who was at Katanga’s home at that time of his death .
According to court, Katanga was killed on November 2, 2023, at his home on Mbuya Chwa II Road, Nakawa Division in Kampala. His wife Molly and their daughter Nkwazi were on November 21 ordered to appear in court yesterday (December 34) by the Chief Magistrate Erias Kakooza but they didn’t show up.
Their lawyers told court the duo was still separately hospitalized at International Hospital in Kampala and Roswell Women in Kampala respectively.
The Lawyers Elison Karuhanga, Bruce Musinguzi and Jet Tumwebaze informed court that Molly was told to keep under doctor’s treatment due to brain injuries she attained on November 2, 2023.
They said the suspects will be brought to court to face all charges once they get well.
However, the prosecutors led by Mariam Kulthum asked for a warrant of arrest against the two suspects arguing that they snubbed the court adding that investigations are still on going regarding the case.
