Maintaining teeth among the young babies is a challenge to many parents globally. Many parents opt for removal of the teeth using local persons instead of a dentist’s instructions.
Memory Tumwijukye, a professional Dentist at Flamingo Dental Clinic, Ntinda speaks to Parrotsug on the eruption and shedding of teeth in babies.
She said Baby teeth erupt/come in through the gums during the first 21/2 years of life.
The 4 front teeth (2upper& 2lower) usually erupt/come in first beginning as early as 6months after birth.
Most children have a full set(20) of baby teeth by the time they are 3 years old.
According to Memory, children begin shedding/ losing their baby teeth at 6years starting with the central incisors (1st two front teeth)
She advises parents and guardians not to remove baby teeth before their time of shedding to keep or maintain space for the permanent teeth.
