The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is all set to officially release the results for the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations on February 11, 2025. This significant event will include a double release of results from two different curricula: the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC) and the Old Curriculum (Transitional) Examination.
In a statement released by UNEB, the official announcement will be made by the Minister for Education and Sports, Mama Janet K. Museveni, at a ceremony at State House Nakasero starting at 11:00 am. Guests attending the event have been advised to arrive by 9:00 am to undergo security checks.
The release is eagerly anticipated as it marks a significant transition in Uganda’s education system. The first cohort of learners under the NLSC will receive their results, while the last group of students under the Old Curriculum will also have their results published. This dual release highlights the ongoing efforts to embrace security and holistic assessment of learners in a dynamic environment.
After the official announcement, parents, candidates, and well-wishers will be able to access the results via SMS. To retrieve the results, individuals should type “UCE” followed by a space, then the full Index Number, and send it to 6600. It is important to note that the Index Numbers for transitional candidates end with ‘T’ (e.g., U0000/001T). Therefore, for transitional candidates, the format would be “UCE U0000/001T” sent to 6600. For the new curriculum candidates, the format would be “UCE U0000/001” sent to 6600.
Additionally, schools will have access to the results through their portals immediately after the official release by the Hon. Minister. The UNEB has extended its best wishes and blessings to all the candidates.
