At least two employees working with the nation’s top media houses have succumbed to corona virus.
The deceased are identified as Pauline Bangirana a journalist at Daily Monitor owned by Nations Media Group and Monica Okot, of Vision Group.
Bangirana has been a long serving journalist at the Daily Monitor and by the time of her death she was working the Chief Editor of the Newspaper’s Rainbow Magazine a weekly pull out targeting the audience of young children in lower primary and kindergartens.
Reliable sources at the Daily Monitor say that Bangirana has been battling with COVID-19. She passed on Wednesday June 9 at STUDENTS. Francis hospital Nsambya where she has been on treatment.
In related stories, the hand of the death also struck Vision Group northern Uganda Bureau robbing them of their long serving employee, Monica Okot.
Okot who reportedly succumbed to COVID-19 was the company’s head of sales in northern region and doubled as the manager of Rupiny Radio.
Uganda has of June 9 registered a total cumulative of 54,669 COVID-19 cases,
388 Deaths, and 47,760 recoveries according to statistics on wordometer.
