KAMPALA:
Gunmen donned in plain clothes have besieged Victoria University and brutally arrested the vice hancellor, Dr. Lawrence Mugarura and his guard.
The kidnappers who forced themselves into Dr. Mugarura’s office, beat him up and his guard before they could bundle them into a waiting drone and whisked them into unknown detention.
Innocent students and staff who tried questioning the gunmen reasons for the VC’s arrested were also futile.
Dr. Mugarura has no known high political profile and has been arrested under unclear circumstances.
Means to speak to Dr. Mugarura’s personal lawyer and the university legal team for a comment remained futile by the time of compiling this report.
