Ankole Diocese has released burial program for Emeritus Bishop George William Tibesigwa who passed on Thursday 9th July, 2023.
Bishop Tibesigwa died at Mayanja Memorial hospital in Mbarara city where he had been admitted since the beginning of this week. His death was announced by the Diocesan Dean Ven. Bob Mwesigye.
“We have received the sad news of the passing of our Emeritus Bishop, however, we await the Bishop Associate Professor Bishop Sheldon Mweigwa to officially communicate the details and the program,” he said.
He had been diagnosed with dementia, a disease connected to impaired disability to remember, think caused by decision making on day to day activities.
According to the released program, there will be a vigil at the deceased home in Rugando Rwampara on Thursday August 10th, at 5pm and a funeral service at Nyakabaare CoU on Friday 11th August, starting from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, whereafter, the body will be taken back to his home for the vigil.
Bishop Tibesigwa will be buried at St James cathedral Ruharo, Mbarara city on Saturday 12th August, 2023. Funeral service according to the diocese will begin at 11am.
