The National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer and incumbent, Annet Katusiime Mugisha, has been re-elected Woman Member of Parliament for Bushenyi District after a tightly contested race.
The Bushenyi District Electoral Commission returning officer, on Friday declared Mugisha the duly elected Woman MP for a second term.
She defeated her closest challenger, Vian Kemigisha, popularly known as Nyamunyonyi.

In her victory remarks, Mugisha pledged to prioritise youth and women skilling, improvement of road infrastructure, construction of Bushenyi and Ishaka markets, extension of safe and clean water, and electricity connections, particularly in underserved areas.
She also reiterated plans to support household incomes through the distribution of 10,000 chicks per month, as well as coffee and tea seedlings to every household across the district.
Mugisha said she would focus on implementing her plan of action in line with the NRM manifesto to improve service delivery in Bushenyi District.
The Bushenyi Woman MP race was among the most hotly contested contests in the Ankole sub-region during the 2026 general elections, with several candidates mounting vigorous campaigns. In the end, voters entrusted Mugisha with another five-year term to represent the district.
