The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has officially nominated Deogratias William Anyoli as its flag bearer for the Kaberamaido District LC5 chairperson race in the upcoming 2026 general elections.

George William Anyoli, Kaberamaido district LCV chairperson aspirant.

Anyoli was nominated on Wednesday, July 16, at the party headquarters at Uganda House in Kampala by the UPC Electoral Commission chairperson, Hajji Kazimbiraine Mahmood.

Speaking shortly after his nomination, Anyoli outlined five priority areas he intends to address if elected, with a particular focus on uniting the district’s political leadership.

“There have been persistent divisions among leaders from different political parties in Kaberamaido, and that disunity is affecting service delivery. My leadership will work to bridge those gaps,” he said.

He also pledged to improve key service sectors in the district, including agriculture, health, and education.

The UPC is currently in the process of nominating candidates for various elective positions ahead of the 2026 elections.
