Atima Jackson Lee Buti, the Arua City Member of Parliament blesses the Moslem fraternity with words of wisdom as he encourages parents and guardians to nurture their children into a responsible generation as message for the Eid al-Adha.
Eid-al-Adha renews the memory of that great sacrifice when Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) was willing to sacrifice his beloved son Prophet Ismail (Ishmael). As such, Atima Jackson calls for each and every other Moslem to sacrifice for a better society through raising God-fearing children.
“We have to sacrifice for a better society, a peaceful country and for progression in our lives, even in our workplaces we need to sacrifice time, be honest and have patience to triumph nurturing God Fearing Children,” Atima Jackson said.
He also encouraged them in the same spirit of sacrifice to address the challenges faced by children. This, according to him, is because it has come out prominently in the recent past that West Nile has the most imprisoned young people which is quite a disheartening and uncomfortable situation.
“This needs collective responsibility from all stakeholders to address, but most importantly the parents, you have to take charge of your children,” he added.
He as well mentioned that it is key for children to always do good, live simple affordable but comfortable lives.
Urging parents to instill in their children hardworking morals, he said, “Teach them to value work, patience, honesty and the savings culture all the way from home. Talk to them about the importance of taking one step at a time and give them skills that will help them to navigate the tides of life.”
As the day is commemorated, parents are reminded that God entrusted them with the responsibility to nurture on his behalf God fearing, hardworking, honest and trustworthy children for better generations.
