Police in Tororo District is holding a Boda Boda rider on allegations of murdering his own friend over 1,000 shillings.
The deceased is Othieno Peter 19-years-old, a senior four student of Rubongi Army SS and a resident of Kasoli village, Eastern Division in Tororo Municipality Tororo district.
The Bukedi South Regional Police Spokesperson, Moses Mugwe has identified the suspect as Mudecha Dawson 26, a resident of Morokatipe road Kasooli parish, Eastern Division in Tororo District.
According to Mugwe, the incident was as a result of disagreements in a gambling game.
It is alleged that the deceased was boxed to coma after demanding for his money worth 1000/=(One thousand Shillings only) he had won while playing cards (gambling).
He (the victim) was immediately rushed to Tororo general hospital for treatment where he was pronounced dead on arrival
Police says they have arrested the suspect to help in investigations.
A case of murder vide CRB 876/2022 has been registered at Tororo CPS.
The Postmortem was carried out at Tororo Municipal Mortuary and body handed over to the family for burial arrangements.
