Mbarara City Police are investigating an incident in which a lecturer at Bishop Stuart University, Doreen Atwongyire, is accused of pouring hot water on her 16-year-old maid.

Dr. Atwongyire PhD is a lecturer at Bishop Stuart University-Mbarara in the faculty of Agriculture, Agribusiness and environment.

The incident occurred after the Victim identified as Anitah Kansiime reportedly failed to bathe Awongyire’s children on time.

The incident took place at Awongyire’s residence in Katete Central Cell in Mbarara City.Kansiime is currently receiving treatment at a local clinic in Katete for injuries sustained during the alleged attack.

Police Spokesperson, Kituma Rusoke through his X formerly tweeter handle confirmed that the suspect (Atwongyire) has been arrested and she is in police custody pending further investigations.
