Police in Sheema District, Greater Bushenyi Region, are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that left two people dead in Masheruka Sub-county on Friday morning.

The incident occured in Kangole Cell, Rugazi Parish, Masheruka Sub-county, Sheema district on Saturday at around 12:30am.

The deceased has been identified as27-year-old businesswoman, Allen Turyasiima a business woman in the area. She was hacked to death inside her shop.

SP Apollo Tayebwa, spokesperson Greater Bushenyi Regional Police.

The alleged attacker, identified as Mushumbusha Osward, a mechanic in his 20s from Kabusye Cell, reportedly stormed the shop armed with a panga, locked the door, and fatally assaulted the victim before fleeing.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was linked to the abrupt end of an extramarital affair between the two after the deceased’s husband discovered the relationship.
