Police in Sheema District, Greater Bushenyi Region, are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that left two people dead in Masheruka Sub-county on Friday morning.
The incident occured in Kangole Cell, Rugazi Parish, Masheruka Sub-county, Sheema district on Saturday at around 12:30am.
The deceased has been identified as27-year-old businesswoman, Allen Turyasiima a business woman in the area. She was hacked to death inside her shop.

The alleged attacker, identified as Mushumbusha Osward, a mechanic in his 20s from Kabusye Cell, reportedly stormed the shop armed with a panga, locked the door, and fatally assaulted the victim before fleeing.
Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was linked to the abrupt end of an extramarital affair between the two after the deceased’s husband discovered the relationship.
Police recovered Allen’s body and transferred it to Kabwohe Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination.
Hours later, police received reports of a body hanging from a tree about one kilometre from the crime scene. The deceased was identified as Osward, the prime suspect in Turyasiima’s murder.
“We recovered a blood stained panga near the body of Mushumbusha suspected to have been used in hacking Turyasiima Allen,” Greater Bushenyi Regional Police spokesperson, SP Tayebwa Apollo said while confirming the double tragic incidents.
SP Tayebwa condemned the incidents, noting that investigations were ongoing.
“As police, we strongly condemn all forms of violence driven by lawlessness, anger, and ego,” Tayebwa said.
