KAMPALA:
The Uganda Prison Services (UPS) Commissioner General Can. Dr. Johnson Byabashaija has with immediate effect made reshuffles of the officers in the force.

The reshuffles were announced on Wednesday evenning.

According to a letter of Appointments, Transfers and Sent to Leave of Prison Officers, shared to Parrots UG,ACP Josephat Semate Karubanga, who has been the Regional Prisons Commander Kigezi, Kabale has been transferred to Central Region Kampala as Regional Commander.

Semate replaces ACP Jolly Joe Bamutura , who has been transferred to Mid-Central Region, Mubende as Regional Commander Prisons.

The Mid-Central Region, Mubende Regional Prisons Commander, SSP Godfrey Obbo has been transferred to Southern Region, Masaka, replacing SSP Christopher Okware, who proceeds on a three months Administrative leave. SP Geoffrey Natabona, who has been on leave is appointed District Prisons Commander Masindi.

SSP Festo Samya, who has been serving as the District Prisons Commander has been transferred to Kigezi Region, Kabale as the RPC. ASP Edrine Kitumba, of Uganda Prison farm Mubuku has been appointed Officer in Charge Uganda Prison Erute. He takes over from SP Faith Norah Malinga, who has retired from the service.

Byabashaija has further appointed ASP David Idoke, of UG Prison Muinaina, the Officer in Charge, U.G Prison Kabula. ASP Idoke replaces P.O.II Aramanzani Kakonge, who has been suspended from duty pending disciplinary actions.He further directed SSP Henry Kidega, the Officer in Charge U.G. Prison Ssaza to institute orderly room proceedings without delay.

ASP Kenneth Nekambi, Kakiika U.G Prison has been appointed Officer in Charge, U.G Prison Wakyato replacing ASP David Pemba Keke, who proceeds to accumulated leave.

ASP Esther Lamunu, U.G Prison Kauga is appointed Officer in Charge, U.G Ngogwe. She takes over from ASP Micheal Midiwo Amoshe, who proceeds on accumulated leave.

In addition, P.O.I, William Twebaze, U.G Prison Kauga has been appointed Officer in Charge, U.G Prison Buvuma replacing P.O.I, Gabriel Kakoma Tamale, who also proceeds to accumulated leave.

P.O.II Walter Otyang, U.G Prison Kassanda has been appointed Officer in Charge, U.G Prison Otuke. He takes over from ASP Patrick Elipa, who proceeds on accumulated leave.

James Nobert Wokorach, P.O.II, U.G Prison Kijjumba has been appointed OC U.G Prison Kangulumira, replacing ASP George Vuciri, who proceeds to accumulated leave.

The prison boss has also apointed Richard Kirigwajjo, P.O.II, U.G Prison Jinja main, the OC U.G Prison Kayonza. Kirigwajjo takes over from Alfred Ongom, P.O.I, who proceeds on accumulated leave.

Meanwhile, Byabashaija has directed officers going on leave to do so outside the prison premises and asked the Director of Administration to facilitate execution of these orders.

“The orders take immediate effect unless otherwise stated. All leave MUST STRICTLY be taken outside the institutions,” he directed.
