The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has urged residents of Kampala to elect leaders who are committed to genuine service delivery and community empowerment.
She made the call while officiating at a cycling race in Kulambiro, Nakawa West, organized to commemorate Uganda’s 63rd Independence Anniversary.
Hajjat Namyalo emphasized that Uganda’s independence should be reflected not only in political freedom but also in responsible leadership that prioritizes the needs of ordinary citizens.
“Kampalans must choose leaders who serve the people, not those who only seek personal gain. We need action-oriented leaders who understand the struggles of our communities and are ready to deliver,” she said.
The cycling event, which attracted hundreds of youth and local residents, aimed to promote unity, fitness, and patriotism among city dwellers as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
Hajjat Namyalo commended the organizers for using sports as a platform to foster community engagement and youth participation, noting that such initiatives align with the vision of the National Chairman, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, of building a healthy, productive, and empowered citizenry.
She also encouraged the youth to remain focused, disciplined, and innovative as they contribute to national development.
“Our independence will only have meaning when the young people take charge of their destiny, work hard, and support the ongoing efforts to transform Uganda,” she added.
The event was attended by local leaders, sports enthusiasts, and members of the community.
