On the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Holy Mass was held at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Kiwamirembe. The event was graced by the presence of Msgr John W Katende, who called for humility, simplicity, and respect for the church amongst the faithful.
The Holy Mass began with a procession of the priest and the congregation in front of the altar. The choir sang hymns in praise of the Blessed Mother as the congregation followed along. Msgr John W Katende then proceeded to deliver a sermon in which he emphasized the importance of being humble, simple, and respectful towards the church.
He noted that the church was not just a building but a place of worship where people come to seek the presence of God. Therefore, it was important to show respect towards its sanctity and be mindful of how we conduct ourselves in it. He urged the faithful to develop a deep sense of humility, acknowledging that we are all sinners in need of God’s mercy and forgiveness.
Furthermore, Msgr John W Katende called for simplicity in our daily lives, reminding us that we do not need material possessions to be happy. He urged the congregation to embrace a simple lifestyle and to focus on what truly mattered in life – loving God and our fellow human beings.
The Holy Mass ended with the congregation receiving the Holy Eucharist as a symbol of their faith and commitment to the church. The faithful expressed their gratitude to Msgr John W Katende for his inspiring words and called for more such events to be held in the future.
The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was not only a celebration of the Blessed Mother’s life but also a reminder of our roles as faithful members of the church. Msgr John W Katende’s words served as a guide for the faithful to live a life of humility, simplicity, and respect for the church.
