The Rt Rev Bishop Callist Rubaramira of Kabale diocese strongly condemns the increased acts of divorce among couples.
Bishop Rubaramira made this call yesterday while preaching during the mass as the main celebrant at the marriage anniversary of Mr and Mrs Deusdedit Steria Kakwenza to celebrate 50 years at their home in Nyamiyaga Village, Rukore ward, Lyakarimira town Council in Ndorwa West County in Kabale district.
Mr and Mrs Deusdedit Steria Kakwenza are parents to Rev Fr Vianney Byaruhanga, the parish priest of Sacred heart Rushoroza Catholic church in Kanungu district.
Bishop Rubaramira said that most of the marrieds divorce due to lack of commitment, very many arguments, infidelity, marrying while too young, unrealistic expectations, lack of equality in the relationship, lack of enough preparation for marriage and domestic violence.
Rt Rev.Rubaramira reminded christians that love, respect, obedience, prayer are the strong pillars of marriage.
Bishop Rubaramira implored couples and those planning to get married to let God be their mediator in order to have a successful marriages.
