Mr. Demiano Natukunda, a second year student pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration was yesterday declared the new Valley University guild president.
According to the results announced by chairman Electoral Commission Ignatius Mugumya, Demiano Natukunda polled total of 80 votes (56.7%) becoming the University’s 3rd Guild President.
Natukunda was closely followed by his only co-runner, Catherbert Agaba also a second year student of Bachelor of Education who garnered 61 votes (43.26%).
How other candidates performed.
The final results from the Independent Electoral Commission declared Ronald Muhairwe the overall winner of the University Sports Ministerial position after polling total of 74 votes defeating Jumah Yassin who polled 66 votes.
On the Speakership race, the EC declared Samuel Kagame a winning candidate after scoring 77 votes against a campus political iron lady Doreen Ainembabazi who obtained 63 votes.
According to the University independent electoral commission acting Spokesperson Bernard Ngabirano, the elections were free and fair.He however, asked those who are uncomfortable with the results to seek legal redress within a timeframe of three days effective Monday May 10th.
