A total of 88 magistrates grade 1 are being equipped with skills in judicial service .“Justice needs of our people whose cries for justice and freedom are ever growing “Buteera said. He added that this two week induction is meant to appreciate the judicial ethics, values and traditions their offices.
“ Induction is to improve their work and increase the quality of service delivery, encompassing adjudication, management, best practices and judgement writing” he added
Buteera urged the magistrates to be the Ambassadors of Judiciary’s new strategies to reduce case backlogging such as mediation, plea-bargain, small claims procedure, diversion of cases for juvenile offenders, arbitration and reconciliation among others.
The chairperson of the Governing Council Judicial Training Institute Mike Chibita noted that the training will enhance service delivery by refreshing their knowledge and capacity.
Chibita cautioned that the judiciary has no room for lack of integrity and laziness “The aim of the induction is to improve their work and increase the quality of service delivery, encompassing adjudication,management, best practices and judgement writing “ Chibita said.
Lady Justice Damalie N. Lwanga said that training organised the organisation she heads that is JTI in line with its mission is to offer specialized training for those working in the field to gain insights and consult on challenging areas they may encounter.She also expressed gratitude to the judiciary top management for funding this workshop.
