Police in Mbarara have arrested the Director of Embatura Drink Company, Bonny Asiimwe for shooting and injuring a man in Kakoba Mbarara.
It’s alleged that on 17th July, 2023 at around 2330hrs, Asiimwe, 44, while at Step in bar along the Kakoba road in Mbarara City used a pistol shot and injured Tukahirwa Curthbert, 24, a resident of Kakoba central Kakoba Division in the foot for reasons still unknown.
The suspect who is also a resident of Bwegyiragye cell ward IV Ishaka Town Council in Bushenyi District was apprehended until yesterday when he was arrested.
SSP Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi region police spokesperson confirmed to the reports of Asiimwe’s arrest noting that police recovered the documents pertaining acquiring of the firearm from the suspect
He says recovery of the firearm is still pending while inquiries into the cause of the incident continue. Asiimwe will be charged with attempted murder.
