At least five suspects have been rounded up in Kabalagala a city suburb on allegations of running an online sex and pornographic site involving teenagers.
Nakaziba Oliver, a prime suspect and the owner of an online sex and pornographic internet site “Online Module Center” was arrested alongside four (4) other female staff who including Wainawalo Ester,18, Matovu Patricia, 18, Katusiime Mackline 20, and Atim Ritar, 25.
The Uganda Police Force PRO CP Fred Enanga says the Nakaziba had rented an apartment in Kabalagala where she had been recruiting young girls luring them into sex and expose them to nudity in exchange for money.
“During the last couple of weeks, our task teams at Kabalagala Police Division, picked intelligence indicating how, Nakaziba Oliver, rented an Apartment where she lured young teenage girls and young female adults, and exposed their nudity online in exchange for money,” said Enanga
According to police, Nazakaziba would create an account that allowed users to privately login and shared nude and erotic photos and videos.
“She allowed users to log into a given account with a client while in private bedroom. The chats would go private where graphic image and pornographic acts which included nude photos, erotic pictures and dancers which were captured on video and shared,” police said
Police recovered five CPUs that were being used by the suspects and they are now carrying out a forensic analysis to establish evidence of child pornography and other pornographic materials.
“Five CPU, were recovered and being processed by the Cyber Forensics Unit for digital evidence of either Child pornography and other pornographic materials. Also recovered includes sexual paraphernalia.”
Police said they have since shut down the site to disable users from accessing it and inquiries into the matter are yet to complete.
“It was one of the most active pornographic platforms, which has now been shut down, pending completion of inquiries.”
Sharing and promoting of pornographic contents is according to police a crime and punishable under the laws of Uganda.
The public has been advised not to engage in any acts of pornography as they promote cultural immortality.
“We wish to warn all sex traffickers and other illegal proprietors of pornography sites, including Child Pornography, against live streaming videos of child sexual abuse and exploitation of children. It is a crime, which looks profitable to them, but is punishable under the law,”
