KANUNGU
An international tourist tragically lost his life in Uganda following a road accident early Monday morning.
The deceased whose identity remains undisclosed is part of the four people that were involved in a motor vehicle accident in Butogota Kanungu.
Earlier this morning, four people were rushed to Bwindi hospital in critical conditions after a vehicle in which they were traveling, Tourist Van Registration number UAM 271U overturned and plunged into a river at Munyaga bridge in Bikuto village, Southern Ward, Butogota Town Council, Kanungu district.
The victims who included three foreign tourists and a Ugandan national driver were were rushed to Bwindi hospital in critical conditions.
Reports from Kanungu district security department shows that one of the tourists succumbed to his injuries, and the driver (Ugandan national) is in critical conditions. Authorities further reported that two of the tourists are out of danger.
Eyewitnesses allege that the accident was caused by a failure of the vehicle’s brakes.
