Today, Monday 10th July 2023, Uganda has joined other African countries participating in empowering the youth about digital exploring through digital learning.
This follows the launching of the ICDL Africa Digital Explorer competition at Golden Tulip Hotel Kampala on July 10.
In a statement by Dan Muhenda, the ICDL Market Development Executive, the competition aims to equip and engage to promote digital literacy in the future workforce with essential digital skills among the students.
“This is one of the exciting academic opportunity the students have gotten since it will help them to enhance their digital competencies and expand practical skills for their their professional careers,” read excerpts from the statement
Participants will be exposed to emerge several computer softwares and applications among them design principles for a successful digital economy.
Michael Niyitegeka, Country Manager at ICDL Africa says that youth empowerment is a necessity for every country disclosing that the launch of the competition in Uganda is a significant step forward in achieving ICDL mission to empower the youth with essential digital skills.
“Fostering digital literacy skills among students can help them unlock their full potential and create a digtaly competent workforce in Uganda” said Niyitegeka
ICDL African Digital Explorer in Uganda will collaborate close with the educational institutions, government bodes, and other stakeholders to ensure the success and impact across the country.
