The Director General for Internal Security Organization (ISO), Brigadier General Charles Oluka has passed away.
Brig. Gen. Oluka assumed office in October 2020 replacing Col. Frank Kaka Bagyenda who was replaced following intelligence related reports.
His death was announced by the deputy defense spokesperson, Col. Deo Akiiki on Wednesday evening. It’s alleged that Oluka has been battling a heart disease.
According to the Special Presidential Assistant Press Secretary, Farouk Kirunda, Oluka died at Seguku hospital where he was rushed this evening following a short illness.
The deputy speaker of parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Bangirana Tayebwa mourned Oluka’s death, and commended his efforts to raise the profile of ISO.
“With sadness I’ve learnt of the death of Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka, Director General, Internal Security Organisation. Brig. Oluka was such a fine gentleman who enhanced teamwork and raised the profile of ISO. His dedication to work and commitment to his country were unrivaled. My condolences go to his dear wife and family, H.E @KagutaMuseveni, the @MODVA_UPDF and ISO fraternity. May Brig. Oluka’s soul rest in eternal peace,” Tayebwa eulogized.
