Mulenga also confirmed the fulfillment of the pledge on Wednesday, on his official X handle formally known as Tweeter. According to Mulenga, the money donated is meant to the purchase of all windows of the cathedral in a bide to complete it’s construction in time without any further delays.

The fundraising campaign was initiated by the Most Reverend Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu as a measure to raise funds to get the completion of the cathedral in time.

According to the building committee of the cathedral, Thomas Tayebwe, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, pledged UGX 53 million, Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, pledged UGX 10 million, Former premier of Uganda Dr. Livingston Ruhakana Rugunda also pledged UGX 2 Million among others.
