Mulenga also confirmed the fulfillment of the pledge on Wednesday, on his official X handle formally known as Tweeter. According to Mulenga, the money donated is meant to the purchase of all windows of the cathedral in a bide to complete it’s construction in time without any further delays.

The fundraising campaign was initiated by the Most Reverend Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu as a measure to raise funds to get the completion of the cathedral in time.

According to the building committee of the cathedral, Thomas Tayebwe, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, pledged UGX 53 million, Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, pledged UGX 10 million, Former premier of Uganda Dr. Livingston Ruhakana Rugunda also pledged UGX 2 Million among others.

Speaking to the media shortly after the fulfillment of his promise Mulenga said all the money belongs to God who is the giver of each and everything and that is why he decided to give back to Him/God, however he applauded Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu for the tremendous work always done towards the completion of the Cathedral including others mobilizers.
