The Kisoro district business community through the district LCV chairman Abel Bizimana have petitioned the presidential Advisor in charge of special operations Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to intervene in the delayed Justice of fellow businessman, Valence Kibyeyi detained in Kigali for 2½ years without trial.

Last Month, during the commissioning structures of team Chairman MK project in the six districts of Kigezi sub region in Kifuka, Mwendo parish, Kitumba Subcounty in Ndorwa West County, Kabale district, Bizimana asked Nuwagira Michael Kaguta aka Toyota, the national chairman Team Chairman MK project to extend the appeal of Kisoro business Community to Gen. Muhoozi to negotiate with president Paul Kagame for the release of Kibyeyi who is facing charges of Evading taxes.

In response, Nuwagira advised Bazimana and the business community to put their appeal in writing and submit it to his office for further assistance.

In a petition appended by Names, National identity card numbers, telephone contacts and signatures of more than 200 petitioners, they say that they are committed to cooperate and contribute what it takes in preparations to have Kibyebi back as his wife was recently buried without his presence and his children are helpless.

Petitioners also say that they trust that the judicial system of Rwanda is fair enough but they equally feel that the framers of the charges have not presented the real picture of the matter, causing an image that does not correspond to the reality on ground.

They also added that they trust president Paul Kagame that in his own volition and mercy, pity the children of Kibyeyi who has been in jail for more than two years and at least release him on bail or outright exercise his powers to set him free upon serving those years without concluding trial.

Now, speaking to our reporter today in a telephone interview, Bizimana revealed that he on Sunday evening submitted the petition of the business community to the national chairman, team Chairman MK project Nuwagira Michael Kaguta aka Toyota.

He said that over 200 petitioners feel Kibyeyi needs government of Uganda intervention where he says that he personally notified President Museveni in his capacity saying that Kibyeyi is a victim of complexity and that he needs liberation from it.
