Court of Appeal has upheld an 8year jail term handed to a lecturer at Kyambogo University after he was found guilty of attempting to murder his wife by pouring acid on her.
The Nakawa magistrate court indicted James Kazungu Aluko with attempted murder, doing grievous harm, and sentenced him to serve 8 years imprisonment
Kazungu however appealed to the High Court but the conviction was upheld and the 8 years sentence stayed
He further reappeal against the sentence, which also court of Appeal upheld noting that the appellant is a lecturer at Kyambogo University who is well educated and knew what he was doing.
It is alleged that on October 28th, 2017 at Namataba village, Kira Municipality in Wakiso District, Kazungu attempted to cause the death of his wife by pouring acid on her.
This was stemmed from the misunderstanding between the dou after his wife asked lecturer to leave her house.
