A man in Mitooma District has allegedly been killed by his own brother following a dispute over stolen coffee.

The deceased has been identified as Allan Bikanya, 21, a resident of Ntungamo Village, Murambi Parish, Nyakizinga Sub-county. He was reportedly stabbed to death in the early hours of Thursday by his biological brother, Bikanya Atuhimbise, a boda boda rider operating in Kitugunda Trading Centre, believed to be in his 40s.

Allan Bikanya, 20s who was stabbed by his own brother over coffee dispute.

According to local sources, the suspect allegedly stabbed Bikanya in the chest with a knife after accusing him of stealing two basins of coffee, estimated to weigh around 80 kilograms.

Although police have not yet issued an official statement, sources revealed that Atuhimbise fled the scene immediately after the incident.

“The situation is still being handled by local authorities, and more details will be shared once a thorough investigation is complete,” a source close to the police said.
