Masaka city gets new campus for training dental surgeons

MASAKA: A new university of science and technology has been opened in Masaka district by the university Lahore in Pakistan to train dental surgeons in the country.

Gov’t Disburses Shs9b as Creative Arts Fund Rolls Out

Equatorial university which has been opened in Masaka Regional Referral Hospital was requested by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni from the government of Pakistan.

The Masaka city RCC Fred Bamwiine, on Tuesday presided over the opening ceremony.

Prof Fredrick Mukiibi, Vice Chancellor Equatorial University Masaka.

Prof. Fredrick Mukiibi, one of the founders of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has been appointed the first Vice Chancellor of the new university.

According to Mukiibi, the university will work with Masaka hospital to enhance the provisional of health services and invest mired in research and innovation to improve livelihoods of the people in the region.

Equatorial university becomes the fourth in Masaka after the oldest Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi, Muteesa 1 Royal University and Kampala University branch.
