The Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese, His Grace Rt Rev. Lambert Bainomugisha on Sunday (August 27) ordained nine priests and 13 deacons at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Nyamitanga Cathedral in Mbarara city.
The ordination started with a procession at exactly 10am with candidates for Priestly and diaconate ordination, priests matching to the Holy Altar in celebration of Holy Mass.
The candidates were later presented to the Archbishop to confess their obligations to shepherd God’s flock by their parents.
Prostration of the grooms followed with all candidates for both Priestly and Diaconate ordination laying on the floor (prostrating) to allow the Holy spirit to descend upon them in their humility to give them a new ministerial character ready to submit to the will of God.
The Archbishop later blessed each one of them and gave them religious instruments to help them in their new pastor journey. They were also blessed by all priests present.
