MITOOMA
Residents of Kyampunu village in Nyakizinga Sub-county, Ruhinda South, Mitooma District, were on Saturday gripped by shock after a man allegedly dug his own grave, reportedly over financial troubles.
The man, identified as Twine Jackson, also known by his nickname Kikooko, is the son of Mr. Busingye, a resident of Omuruhita, Kataho, Nyakizinga.
According to neighbours, Twine was seen digging a grave in the village before heading to a local bar. The unusual act has raised fears among residents that he might be contemplating suicide.
“We are worried he could harm himself. We tried to talk to him but he walked away without saying much,” one resident told Parrots Media on condition of anonymity.
Local authorities have since been alerted. Efforts to get comments from the area police for an official comment were futile by press time.
This is a developing story and we will bring more details as they emerge.
