A 40-year-old mother in Bukomansimbi district has been arrested on allegations of murder of her 4-year-old child.
The suspect is Vumilia Florence, a Tanzanian national and wife to Samula John, both residents of Kawoko Kiwenjula village, Kawoko Parish, Butenga sub-county, Bukomasimbi district.
Police has identified the victim as Aneziusi Mulokozi 4yrs, who was assaulted by his mother under unclear reasons
The Greater Masaka police spokesperson , Muhamad Nzubuga says that the incident occured on Thursday morning at around 1100hr
He said that the victim collapsed after being assaulted making the mother to panick and rushed him to Butenga H/C IV where he was admitted and pronounced dead moments later at about 1400hr
Preliminary investigation indicate that the deceased is son of Vumilia who he had come with in a second marriage in Uganda four years ago.
Police visited the scene of the crime and medical report shows that the child’s body had multiple body injuries suggestive of physical assault. The deceased body has been conveyed to Masaka hospital for a postmortum whereas the suspect is under police custody
