A tragic incident has shaken the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) community in Kampala, Uganda. Eunice Birungi, a student at MUBS, has been arrested in connection with the sudden death of her boyfriend, Alvin Nyanja, who was also a student at the same institution.
According to reports, Nyanja was found unconscious in his rented apartment on Ismael Road in Mbuya, Nakawa Division, shortly after Birungi visited him. He was rushed to a nearby clinic, where he was pronounced dead. The police were alerted, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Nyanja’s death was launched.
Birungi, who was the last person to see Nyanja alive, was arrested by the police to aid in the investigation. Although she was later released on bond to allow her to sit for her exams, she remains a person of interest in the case. The police believe that Nyanja’s death might be connected to problems in his relationship with Birungi.
The police are treating Nyanja’s case with utmost seriousness and are working to uncover the truth. According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, officers responded to an emergency call reporting a suspected suicide but later learned that Nyanja had died at the clinic. Investigations into all three incidents are ongoing.
