Mulago hospital Nursing Officer on the spot over theft of gov’t drugs.

Mulago National Referral Hospital Nursing Officer Sam Imongit is on the spot after he was found with illegal possession of government drugs, National Drug Authority (NDA) reported.
“NDA enforcement team has closed Gajorin Pharmacy in Malaba owned by Imongit Sam, a nurse at Mulago Referal Hospital.” NDA said.
Abias Rwamwiri the authority spokesperson says that the said stolen drugs were found in Imongit’s pharmacy in Malaba which they also ordered to close due to illegal operations
“This was found selling government of Uganda stores and was operating without a supervising pharmacist,” said Rwamwiri PRO NDA.
He added that Imongit is on run but the authority enforcement team managed to arrest 3 of his staff and are currently under police custody.
According to Rwamwiri, Imongit and his accomplices will be charged with illegal possession of government stores that contravenes section 136 of the Penal Code Act. He appealed to Ugandans to report to NDA and police anyone suspected of stealing government drugs
