Reports indicate that the former Headteacher identified as Agnes Nanyonjo was recently transferred to Bukandula CoU Primary School as the Deputy Headteacher. But, she has since refused to handover office to the school management under unclear circumstances.
Fewer pupils have now reported to the school but no study businesses are being conducted as Nanyonjo locked all classrooms, teachers’ residences, staff room and administrative offices.
Parents at the school say their children only go to school to play than studying and no teacher is attending to them. They demand that government should intervene in the matter and have the school reopened with immediate effect.
Speaking to our Reporter, Nanyonjo admitted to the allegations of not handing over office noting that she had informed the sub-county authorities on her issues she didn’t disclose
“I wrote to the sub-county officials at Kabulasoke in Gomba on my issues and they are aware of my grievances’n said Nanyonjo.
Geoffrey Kalyango, the Gomba District Education Officer has said that Nanyonjo was serving as Acting Headteacher at Nakulamudde Primary School before she was transferred to Bukandula Primary School after the school got a Headteacher
He added that if she has personal grievances the District Education commission will look into it and have them resolved.
Kalyango urged parents to stay calm and warned them against the rumoured plans to hold mob justice against Nanyonjo noting that the school will reopen soon.
