Nandala, who is the Party’s Secretary General made the commitment on Wednesday after he was unveiled as the party’s presidential flagbearer during their 19th national council meeting at Najjanankumbi, Kampala.

According to him, empowering the graduates financially will help to address the youth unemployment crisis that the ruling government has failed to address.

“As part of the party’s commitment to empower the youth, we promise to provide each graduate Shs1 million as start-up capital and save Uganda from NRM captivity of poverty,” Mafabi said.

Other proposals in his agenda include combating gender-based violence, protecting businesses, creating jobs, and stimulating investment among others.

The former leader of opposition in parliament said he was the only candidate capable of reviving Uganda’s economy and eliminating corruption.

“A vote for me is a vote in your pocket,” he told supporters, urging Ugandans to overlook his physical appearance and language skills and judge him by his record and vision.

Furthermore, Mafabi pledged to restore presidential term and age limits, reduce public debt, revive privatized parastatals, and decentralize governance. He also promised to promote education and sports, build stadiums in schools, provide housing for doctors in public hospitals, allocate Shs100 million to each village, establish rehabilitation centres for youth struggling with substance abuse, and offer free sanitary towels to teenage girls.
