KAMPALA
The nation is paying tribute to Cedric Babu, a renowned media personality, sports administrator, and former tennis star, who passed away on May 31 in Nairobi, Kenya. His body has arrived at Lugogo Indoor Stadium for a national tribute.

Family, friends, athletes, and government officials gathered at the stadium to honor Babu’s legacy. The National Council of Sports described him as “a passionate servant of sport and a true patriot.”
Babu’s contributions to Ugandan sports, particularly tennis, will be remembered. He promoted the game at grassroots and elite levels during his tenure as Uganda Tennis Federation president.

Details about his burial will be announced by the family soon. Babu leaves behind a wife and children. He was 50. Cedric Babu Ndilima will be laid to rest at his ancestral homes in Kamengo, Mpigi district on Saturday 7th June, 2025.
